EMO - Birthday Wishes!

Another non-Christmas card, instead here is a birthday card which I made for a friend of mine's daughter who has recently decided to take on an 'Emo' style - (Mum not a happy bunny!! - to say the least) as for me I didn't even know what an Emo was (thought it was some sort of bird!!!!??) and the comment from my kids was "you don't know what an Emo is??? your weird Mum!"................

Anyway, Lotte 'loved' her card and totally loved the image so much that she wants her Mum to buy her said stamp! - do Emo's craft then????

Kids don't you just love them!...........................

Anyway, seeing as we're so close to the "Big Day" now and just in case I don't have time to post tomorrow - which is most likely! - I will wish you all now an absolutely fabulous Christmas and may Santa bring you lots of pressies but above all love and happiness to you, your family and friends! See you soon! lol x

Cherish!

I decided to steer away from the Christmas theme and instead made this card using another one of the new Sugar Nellie stamps I received from Funky Kits and this time going with a "Love" theme! I still have a few unfinished Xmas projects on my to-do list which in all honesty I'm not sure I'm going to have time to get round to doing (perhaps I'll do them and save them for next year now!!) - hope you're all now set for Christmas - I'm not .....yet! but fingers crossed and all will be well on the night! lol x

Unfortunately in the photo you can't see the glitter or shimmer or even the glossy accent on the flowers?????

New Sugar Nellie Stamp by new designer Leanne Ellis, pattern paper download from Sweet shoppe designs, fiskar border punch, coloured with watercolour pencils and cosmic shimmers, glossy accents added to the roses for dimension, sentiment download from Funky Fairy.

Update - Nov. blog candy!

Just a quickie to let you know that I shall be doing a re-draw of my November blog candy as, as to date it has still not been claimed by the winner! - I will therefore do a re-draw this Friday morning and post the new winner in the afternoon - and just to remind you of the candy still up for grabs........

Busy?? - That's an understatement!!

Is there anybody NOT busy at this time of year?? - well, in my household it's all go from Panto's, carol services, Xmas shopping and planning etc etc etc the list goes on.......but still in the midst of all this business I've managed a little crafting, but from here on the reality is that for the next week or so it may be a little quiet here on my blog and I will probably only get to post every other day or so.......but then I'm sure you will understand as so many of you will all be in the same boat, in fact some of you that I visit have already stopped posting regularly! - it's all for a good cause (lol)!!.......

Anyway, you may recall that I mentioned having received some new goodies, well here they are in the pic - some new Sugar Nellie stamps - aren't they gorgeous?! well I managed to put together a project using one of the stamps - I have stamped the others, but just haven't got round to colouring them.

This sugar Nellie stamp has been stamped and coloured with watercolour pencils and marvy pens. The papers are digital downloads from Sweet Shoppe Designs. I have also distressed the paper using some TH distress ink pad (wathered wood), the sentiment is also a download from the Funky Fairy - Sizzix die cuts - some stickles for sparkle - some coloured staples (Tescos).

I will also be posting later today again about November blog candy! - Back in a little while.......

Magnolia - Skating!

You may have come to notice by now that I have a weak spot for anything to do with skating (something to do with the fact that in my earlier days I was a skater and now my daughter (of her own choice) is also a skater!) so when my stamps arrived from the Magnolia Club and this was one of the stamps.......well, of course, it was love at first sight!

I made this card for Emma, my daughter, just to wish her luck at her first panto on ice show, it started yesterday finishes on Sunday and she is really enjoying it, and although she wont admit it at the end of the evening she is flat out exhausted! - I'll try to get some piccies posted as soon as we have some.

Supplies: Magnolia stamp from the New Year collection - papers are from sweet shoppe designs

I also received some more fabulous goodies yesterday, but I'll save that for tomorrow's post and hopefully by then I will be able to post a project with those goodies too! - so if that's got you curious, you know what you gotta do!!.....lol x

A Cowboy Theme

We are getting ever so closer to Christmas and I don't even seem to have a moment to stop and take a breath!! Emma's panto (on ice) starts tomorrow, so as of tomorrow we will be at the rink everyday (mostly evenings except Thursday which is all day and Sat & Sun when there will be 2 performances per day) until Sunday, I've only just started Xmas shopping - I'm writing cards in between in hope to get them all posted and gone by this weekend.....the list just goes on and on and on..........and I'm afraid to say that crafting is kinda' taking the back seat a bit now, but having said that I have managed to squeeze a little in and here is a card I made using the same papers and stamps up for grabs in my December blog candy!

Hope you're all enjoying the holiday season - however busy and stressful it may be!

December Blog Candy

Here it is December's Blog Candy and this month up for grabs is another brand new unmounted stamp from 'Rubbernecker" from the 'little lovins cowboy' collection and some themed DP from Sweet Shoppe - so cute!

BUT............................................................it's Chrsitmas time and as a Christmas treat I have added a 2nd blog candy, this time a gorgeous Sarah Kay stamp from the Christmas collection.

So what are you waiting for?! all you have to do in order to be in for a chance to win is leave me a comment on this post by Monday 29th December 11pm (GMT) thats it! - no question, just one simple comment - I will randomly draw TWO winners - the first will receive the 'Cowboy' stamp and papers and the second will receive the Sarah Kay stamp. I will announce the winners on my blog on the Wednesday after and as per norm if you mention and link my blog candy on yours I will enter you in twice.

Happy Crafting! - Thanks for playing along
& Happy Holidays to you all!

Santa!

I love the vintage - especially the Victorian - images of Santa, which is why this Rubbernecker stamp is one of my Christmas favourites.

I had a little play with him last night and this is what I came up with - it was great as I also got to use my new cargo font from spellbinders (I have been waiting FOREVER! to get these) anyway, they arrived on Saturday and I was ecstatic to say the least.

Talking of arrivals a few weeks ago I also received my Magnolia stamps from the Magnolia Club, it was the first time I ordered these and I was somewhat sceptical as to what I was going to actually receive as you dont get much info., anyway, I was not dissapointed, the images are fab and I will definitely be ordering again.

Hopefully I will have some projects ready to show you using these very shortly.

Blog Candy Winner(S)!!

BIG Thanks you to everybody who took part, it was great to read your comments and to visit your blogs too. Interesting to see how we all differ with our card/project making - excluding last week when I had completely lost my mojo! it can take me anything from an hour to a whole day just to make a project!

Anyway, onto the winner(s) and the reason why that is plural is that I have re-drawn October's blog candy as it still unclaimed! - so firstly the winner for the re-draw of October's blog Candy is....

Ribenaruby

AND the blog candy winner for November blog candy is........

Katarina - kamadesign

CONGRATULATIONS to both contact me via my email with your details so that I can post your winnings to you before the big Christmas post rush!
Thanks again and don't forget to check back for December's blog candy!

Can't believe it's been THAT long!

At last I'm back!!....and truley I cannot believe that it has been that long......I firstly and foremost just want to say a big thank you to all those that emailed me wondering of my whereabouts - its so touching when people you don't know show their concern - Thank you!

So why have I been away so long (and missed my blog candy announcement! - I'll do that next)? Well, there's good and bad news.....the Thursday after my last post we had a phone call to say that my father-in-law had suffered a heart attack - he's 86 and he was not doing too good, hence we dropped everything, my Mum came to look after my kids, whilst I left to go help my inlaws I was there for almost a week until he was discharged and glad to say he is now recovering well and my sister-in-law has been given some days to be at home to help out.

But the saga doesn't end there - when I got home of course I had a million things to catch up with including making some nativity costumes for my sons nursery that I had promised a while ago that I would help out with, so that was another few days gone - here are some pics of the costumes (2 Santas - 4 Angels - Mary - and Joseph played by my little one)

My daughter is also having to go to various rehersals for their Christmas pantomime of the Wizard of Oz on ice, and then as of next week we'll be at the rink everyday for 5 days!!!-

Then there's Christmas THINGS to start sorting out, presents, decorations, tree, cards etc etc etc - and next Monday I've booked up for us to go to Lapland UK (New Forest), I'll let you know how it went!

So basically that's what's been going on - I have been swamped, I've had no crafting timing up until yesterday when I sat down in my craft room for the first time in what seemed SUCH A LONG time - But here's a card I made just before things went pearshaped - its 'Simone' from Toodles & Binks and now they have some more new fab designs which you can see here - hopefully from now things will resume to some sort of normality!

Thanks for sticking with me and for your understanding! lol x

LOST MOJO - if found PLEASE return!!

Hi guys, sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. I have not made anything (craftwise) for about a week (to be fair to myself, we have been through a bit of a whirlwind this past week!) and I sat down today to make a card, only to find myself staring at this one image (which I had managed to colour!) and at a complete blank as to what to do next!!?? I finally completed the card after spending over half a day on it (far toooo long!), but even then I'm still not totally satisfied with it - hence no picture!!! - however, I haven't given up yet just taking a break for kids and dinner etc and will be back at my craft desk this evening, fingers crossed my mojo may have returned!!!

So see you later or else tomorrow - and not to forget that this week is your last chance to enter my BLOG CANDY see here.

Christmas Tags!

So much for having an afternoon of crafting (monday) as I mentioned in my last post - from the lack of posts you can see that that didn't happen and it didn't happen Tuesday and I've had all of about just under 2 hours in my craft room today and that included having to put away some new bits and bobs that arrived (which BTW despite everything - did cheer me up!).

The whole reason for my lack of crafting time, is that we have just put our house on the market (last week to be precise!) and after a slow start, this week we've had a quite a few viewings, so I've had to TRY to keep the house as 'top notch' as possible!

Anyway, I did manage to make one card for you today using the tags from the Christmas stamp set from Particraft which can't be bought, BUT you can get it FREE if you host a party - and there are two to choose from, they're really versatile and great for all your Christmas projects, I've used the tags on a card, but they would look equally as good on their own on a present!!

Ingredients: Particraft Chrsitmas stamp set 2, distress inks, cuttlebug embossing folder, papers from stash box

Here are the two stamp sets to choose from click on the picture above to find out more.

Particraft Weekend and MORE!!

I've had a great weekend to tell you about, but I'll try to keep it brief in order not to bore you! - Firstly, on Saturday, I attended a Particraft training day held at the new HQ in Kettering, lead by Traci. It was a great opportunity to meet some of the new demonstrators and to also catch up with the others. I am well chuffed with the fact that this time I DID not get lost and even managed to get there with enough time to find my way to the nearest supermarket to buy my lunch and back again - woohoooo!!!

The training itself was fab we played with distress ink, distress crakle paint, cosmic shimmer, adirondack dabbers, alcohol inks, grungeboard and great new ways and techniques of putting them to use, in a word - Fantastic! and the business side of the training was VERY informative and just as great. You can be sure of seeing some projects coming this way shortly putting some of these new techniques to use - so watch this space!

It was also great to see all the new Particrafts products that we are going to be stocking along with many exclusive products too, and I could list them all here for you but, that would take up too long, so trust me when I reccommend that you see them for yourself here!

And then of course, Remeberance Day this morning, and my son (who is a young Cadet) was Parading, so all the family went down this morning to see them and go along to the church service, grandparents came down especially, it was 'awesome' and one of those moments that is really touching and we were all really proud of him!

And last but not least, an afternoon football match in the cold, very blustery, rain and wet and muddy pitch, my hands were frozen, how I managed to take a picture was pure genius!(although as you can see they're not great!) - hubby was running the line and the look on his face just read 'what am I doing here??!!' still the boys had a good game, enjoyed it and came away with a 9 - 0 victory!

And now, at the end of the evening, dinner had, grandparents gone home, kids all in bed, hubby watching t.v. I was going to retire to my craft room for a couple of hours and craft, but all I've manged to do is mount my new stamps, put everything (craft things) away from the weekend and I can't do no more, once I've finished this post, I will be retiring, but to bed, for a fresh start tomorrow and a whole afternoon of crafting - I hope!

Friday 7 November 2008

Training Day!

I've now left and am currently at my Mum's in London (she will be babysitting for me) as tomorrow I will be at a Particraft training day. I'm really looking forward to it as we always learn some great techniques and tips and its a great opportunity to meet up with other demonstrators as we all live so far from each other and only seem to be able to get together at these training days or various shows around the country. Traci will be doing the training, so we will be coming away buzzing, minds overflowing with new ideas! Can't wait, just hope I don't get lost as I did last time - me and map reading don't go!! - hubby suggested I take his car with satnav - but even he hasn't tried it out, so I gave that a miss. Anyway hopefully once i'm on the road it will all come back to me, I just hope i get there safely!

So no projects for you today I'm afraid, but I will try to post some piccies on Sunday of our training day and our makings!

Don't forget you can still enter my blog candy here.

Meet Simone

Here's a project that I put together last night using "simone" from Toodles & Binks. I wanted to make something other than card with her so I made this little book/album and also got to use my Bind-it-all which I haven't used in ages! - shame on me!!!

Tuesday 4 November 2008

Christmas Song!

Another close call, but here is my entry to the WOJ challenge blog which this weeks theme was a colour theme - Burgundy (red) and Green!!!!

I have used WOJ stamp 'Carol singing Charlotte' the background musical notes stamp is from 'Stamps Away' the sentiment is a download from the Funky Fairy and the papers are from Kaiser. The rose ribbon embelishment I have made from the same ribbon that runs at the bottom of the card.

My Mini Tutorial & Scrapbook Crazy!

WOW! - can you believe it, my mini tuturial (first one too!) which I posted instructions for here has been featured?! - I received an email from a lady at "Scrapbook-Crazy" and was asked if they could feature my tutorial on their site - aside from shock, I was oh so overjoyed at the prospect and I was emailed the link yesterday and of course, had to share it with you guys here! Check it out as there are some other great tutorials to do.

This month up for grabs is a brand new and already mounted onto ez-mount stamp from 'Rubbernecker" from the 'little lovins' collection, and aren't they just the cutest! - Well these cuties could be yours and all you have to do in order to be in for a chance to win is leave me a comment on this post by Sunday 23rd November 11pm (GMT) this time, telling me "Roughly how long does it normally take you to create and complete a card?!" - I will randomly draw and announce the winner on my blog on the Tuesday after and as per norm if you mention and link my blog candy on yours I will enter you in twice.

Happy Crafting! & Thanks for playing along.

Halloween Witches and Ghouls!! & Parties!.....

I didn't have time to post yesterday, as I was busy taking my little one to stay with his grandparents in London, be back in time to find Michael last minute costume, get Emma and her best friend ready for trick o treat which we all had to be at a friends house by 5.30pm. Well, we made it, (we were about 15mins late!!!) but once there, we all set off, we had a really good time, met lots of other trick o treaters on our round, saw some really good costumes!! (which made me wish that I had had just a little more time to have made ours as I usually do, but alas...it was not to be this year!) We ended back at friends for a Halloween party with all the usual halloween party games, kids had an absolute ball! we got back home at nearly 2am!!! - the only thing missing was my little one, but we are off to another party today (a friends 40th) and we cannot take small children!!!

So as you can see guys, I'm going to be somewhat busy today too - the girls (4 of them, 2 teenagers and two 9 year old teenagers!!!!!) are all getting dressed and made up at mine somewhere in there I have to get ready too, and no doubt I'll have to help hubby and son get ready in one form or another! - So, I will probably not have a another post for you today - I'm just sneaking this one in quickly!! (including November blog candy 'till tomorrow! - sorry, but hope you will understand!)

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween and enjoy the weekend!
